Girl Empowerment Organizations Chicago
Here are Chicago girl empowerment organizations from five organizations that will make you proud to be a chicago girl:
1. Girls in Games - Sports scares me when I'm young. Girls in the Game are organizations that might change their minds. For 20 years, GitG has shown young women the benefits of training: confidence, focus, integrity, strength. Their events are not competitive. From school programs to summer camps, girls have many choices to play.
2. Girls on the Run - If general sportsmanship is too broad, young women in Chicago can only get RUNs. Girls on the Run encourages students from grades 3 to 8 to find their inner strength. Run-based curriculum is part of a discussion about life challenges, some physical activity. Data shows an increase in participants' self-esteem and health.
3. Rock girl! - Have you ever seen the School of Rock movie? Girls Rock! reminds me of movies - if Jack Black's character is very good in music. This organization organized an extraordinary summer camp for a week for wannabe rockers. Every woman learns instruments. In addition to band training, they discussed song writing, attendance on stage, and team work. The last show and recording session is pure Chicago. The band has taken the stage at Schubas, The Metro and Bottom Lounge. Rock on!
4. Girl Forward - This organization is a little different from the others. Girl Forward is an education and empowerment program for refugee girls. These amazing young women came to Chicago from war-torn countries. This organization provides summer camp and a safe place for young women aged 12-21 years. Women in the Chicago area can help by becoming mentors at Wellness "Four Ws-", Wisdom, Wallets, World.
5. Girls Who Code - I start by talking about coding, and I'm finishing with the same notes. Girls Who Code wants gender equality in technology. Founded in 2012, preparing young women for the 21st century. The ultimate goal of the Girls Who Code is to educate 1 million girls in computer programming by 2020. They have just begun in Chicago (I see relevant job posts), so no one needs to register. Mark their page. I hope for great things.
